My Nightmare On Classmates.com
Classmates dot com Nightmare
I joined classmates.com to get in touch with former class mates and former acquaintances. I signed up for a free classmates account and put up a picture of what I looked like at 18 and a current picture, in addition I put one up of my wife and I, and a picture of our daughter that just graduated.
I contacted former friends, and added friends to my profile. My school wasn’t very big and when you join a school on classmates and signed into classmates dot com other classmates icons will come up, I noticed one of a former girlfriend and clicked a message option of greeting and how you have you been doing, she posted a reply on her public message board, the gist of what she posted was “she was only 16 when she knew me and I abused her mentally and physically and never in this lifetime or the next contact her”.
You have to realize she put down my full real name on her public message board, and anyone that looks at her profile will see that. I contacted classmates.com a week ago to complain, and received no reply, I also clicked on the link on her profile that says report this profile. I enjoyed classmates dot com, but they should not ignore a complaint that someone is posting lies that could hurt your family with emotional distress.
Here is my story with this girl, I dated her over 20 years ago, she was 16 and not attending school. She claimed her step dad asked her to quit school to watch the 3 younger brothers whom he was the real father, and then he teased her for not attending school and she claimed she was abused physically and mentally.
She called me, (I was a year or 2 older than she) asked if I would take her away. I did and moved her into my families home a mile away. My parents allowed this because they did not want her to be abused, I have a Christian family and they did not allow us to sleep together. After 9 months she moved back to her parents hopeing things changed and I think it did in the beginning.
I was called by her a few weeks later to pick her up, she was in the town park to drive her by her home, it was pleasant. I also seen her a year later and talked for 10 minutes and it was also pleasant. My mother said she was the closest person to a daughter she would ever have, my family loved her.
I moved out of state for schooling a month after she moved out of our house but heard she ran away again and she went to court so she would not have to go back to her family and went into a foster home, she claimed the foster dad tried to sexually abuse her and ran away from there.
I haven’t seen or heard from her since, and my class mates story is above. I have contacted consumer affairs and filed a complaint against classmated.com for not responding to remove the derogative messages she posted publicly against me, it is a clear violation of their terms of service, it is slanderous and untrue.
I have also files a complaint with Consumer Affairs against classmates.com for not responding or removing the derogatory messages about me. The response from consumer affairs:
Thanks for the consumer report you filed with us recently. We appreciate your telling us about the situation you encountered.

Sweet, finally a post that fulfills my research. So many people get this topic wrong. You are a great thinker.
I think classmates dot com should take care of complaints faster than what they do, usually it takes 2 weeks for them to remove derogatory postings after a complaint, I see yours was removed in 4 days, obviously you know how to push the right buttons.
Very usefull Info Thank You for sharing
